5/7/2023 0 Comments Mta bus time b63![]() ![]() However ever since the DOT lane closure on the BQE overpass, that 30-45 minutes has turned into a solid 1hr 20 minutes of inching along. For the handful of times I did take public transit, it was always 1hr 10mins to a record of 2hr 30mins left entirely up to chance, a significant enough difference that I felt driving is justified. For the 4 years I've been doing this commute it was always about a 30-45min drive. My commute is New Dorp, Staten Island to East Williamsburg. I thought, maybe I should be taking the bus+subway. I've engaged in many of those debates, defending the reason I drive to work, but it's not like I don't self-reflect. ![]() There has been a lot of heated debate in this sub as of late in regards to car use in "transit deserts", and a lot of people have the opinion that many of us are too lazy or entitled to take buses, particularly for inter-boro trips. If you don't feel like reading the whole thing just downvote me or tell me to choke on a dick which you'll probably end up doing anyway. I just wanted to relay what a typical bus-involved outer borough commute can actually be like while it's still fresh in my mind. ![]()
